One of my favorite stroller is Joovy Balloon . Quality, durability, and style, all very important to me when selecting the right item for my daughters.
If you’re looking for a lightweight and stylish everyday single stroller that can be used from birth to 45 lbs and compatible with 13 infant car seat carriers (adapter included), you may want to seriously consider the Joovy Balloon.
This stroller gave me a positive first impression: the Joovy Balloon arrives basically already assembled. You’ll need to add the wheels and the cup holders… It was definitely one of the easier stroller assembly jobs I’ve done.
But there are a handful of features I consider when determining if a stroller is a good fit for my daughters and me.
Extra – Large Canopy
The canopy on the Joovy Balloon is extra-large and it even folds down in front of the child to block the elements and doesn’t have a peek-a-boo window. It’s really easy to open and close, so easy that my daughter love playing with it while we took a stroll. For sunny days, the Balloon features a huge canopy with UPF 50 coverage!
The Joovy Balloon seat accommodates a newborn up to 45 lbs and measures 13″ wide with a 21″ seat back and a measurement of 24″ from seat back to canopy. It sports an adjustable, padded, 5-point harness with an easy-to-do buckle. The seat has a deep, 160 degree recline that is done with a dual strap system.
The footrest adjusts to two positions and features a mesh enclosure as an extra safety precaution to turn the seat into a bassinet environment. There is also a fabric covered, removable and swing-away baby bumper bar on the seat.
A unique feature on the Joovy Balloon is the reversible handlebar that allows the seat to be in a forward-facing or a parent-facing position. Without removing the child from the seat, all you have to do is lift two levers and the handlebar will switch sides so that the seat parent-faces.
I realized that fold is just as important, if not more, than the other stroller functions. You only need one hand to open and close the Joovy Balloon, making it easy to take in and out of the car, the fact that it’s only 12.7 lbs helps too!
I love that there are two removable cup holders on the handlebar and a rather large basket underneath the seat. This basket may appear little, but my hands remain free. The maximum weight that can be carried in the storage basket is 5 lbs.
The new upgraded wheels, better wheels have been added for improved maneuverability, suspension, and overall strolling.
Even though the Joovy Balloon is super lightweight, it has the ability to become a travel system with the universal car seat adapters that come with it. All you have to do is recline the seat, remove the baby bumper bar, attach the car seat adapters, set the car seat in the stroller seat and wrap the bungee cords around the car seat handles.
This stroller looks much more expensive than it’s $199.99 price tag. With 6 colors to chose from – Black, Blue, Green, Pink, Red or Yellow – you can pick the color that best suits your style. I chose pink for my little princess.
The Joovy Balloon is an amazing, lightweight stroller which pushes and transports with ease! I especially love the large canopy, the roomy seat and the big basket.
